Mr. and Mrs. Earlo Smith
65th Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Earlo Smith celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary Nov. 20, 2008, with a family dinner.
Earlo Smith and Marjorie Smith were married Nov. 20, 1943, in Souix Falls, S.D. They are the parents of Janell Hoelscher, David Smith, Steve Smith and Norma Perrine. They also have 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The couple has lived in Center Point, Ireton, Iowa, and San Angelo since their wedding.
He is retired from the commercial refrigeration industry. He is a World War II veteran. She is retired from the secretarial industry. She is a member of the Newtimers of San Angelo, the Bridge Club and the Garden Club.
They are members of First Presbyterian Church.
Hosts for the dinner were the couple's children.
Mr. and Mrs. E. Lamar Kopecky
60th Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. E. Lamar Kopecky will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary Nov. 28, 2008, with a family dinner.
E. Lamar Kopecky and Beth Prothro were married Nov. 24, 1948, in Midland. They are the parents of Gene Kopecky of Carbondale, Colo., and Martha Suiter of Hermitage, Mo. They also have six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The couple has lived in Midland and San Angelo since their wedding.
He is a retired partner of Jones, Hay, Sanders & Co. CPAs. He is a veteran of the United States Navy and served in World War II. He is a member of the Downtown Lions Club, Cokesbury Christian Singers of First United Methodist Church and La Paloma Dance Club. He served as treasurer for Meals for the Elderly and as treasurer for the San Angelo District of the United Methodist Church.
She is a retired secretary and bookkeeper for J.H. Russell & Son, Real Estate and Appraisals. She is a member of the Pocahontas Chapter of the DAR, United Methodist Women, the Cokesbury Christian Singers of First United Methodist Church and La Paloma Dance Club.
They are members of First United Methodist Church.
Mr. and Mrs. F.G. Brown
50th Anniversary
VANCOURT - Mr. and Mrs. F.G. Brown celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Nov. 15, 2008, with trips to Ireland and Scotland.
F.G. Brown and Joan Hill were married Nov. 15, 1958, at First United Methodist Church in Cotulla. They are the parents of Rowdy Brown of Mereta, Randall Brown of Coleman and Russell Brown of Dallas. They also have five grandchildren.
The couple has lived in Fredericksburg, Marlin, Ballinger and Vancourt since their wedding.
He is a self-employed farmer and rancher.
He is on the board of directors at First State Bank of Paint Rock.
She serves on the Child Welfare Board, the board of directors at Central Texas Telephone Coop and works with Concho County Crimestoppers.
They are members of First United Methodist Church of Paint Rock.
